For the sake of my family in South Africa, this blog will be written in english.
When I graduated last year I decided to dedicate 2016 to traveling and photography. Accordingly most destinations this year have been, or will be, exciting seen through a lens.
As some of you know I went to London for 24 hours on New Years Eve on my own to kick off 2016. I had just bought my new camera and was still trying to figure out the button layout and everything. Those 24 hours felt like a recharge and it was very exciting way of entering a new year.
In february I travelled down to Cape Town with my mom to visit family. Despite it being so far away it feels a bit like coming home, and I found this visit in particular very special - perhaps one of our best visits yet.
Now the time has come for my third trip of 2016. Instead of going away for like 3-4 months, I quite early on decided to have one big trip and then several smaller ones throughout the rest of 2016. This is the big one.
Here is the current situation:
On the 3rd. of April, which is tomorrow as I'm writing this, I'll travel to Fort Lauderdale with a friend where we'll have a 3 hour layover before jumping on a plane towards COSTA RICA. I can't wait to explore such a different part of the world! Right now it seems nothing short of surreal that we'll take off in what is now only hours. We'll arrive in San José, the capital of Costa Rica, shortly after midnight from where we'll catch a cab to a BnB to meet some friends. At our BnB we'll spend 2 days to plan everything and then we're off on adventures!
As April turns into May I'll head towards New York City to spend a couple of weeks there. At this point in time I haven't book that particular flight yet though, so yea, there is that - we'll figure it out!
I'll try to update this blog as much as possible on my trip with small stories, anecdotes and general updates + maybe a few photos so be sure to check back soon. Furthermore, I'll definitely be posting on my Instagram so be sure to follow my adventures @sebtelmer !
That's about it! Exciting times!
All the best,
